GREETINGS EVERYONE!
SEVERAL OF YOU HAVE EMAILED AND ASKED "WHERE HAVE YOU DISAPPEARED TOO!". In June of 2007 I met reggae dancehall legend "Sugar Minott"! Producer Roman Pryce and myself were in Jamaica promoting the DVD release of "Round & Round" featuring 2005 Grammy Winner Toots Hibbert! It was a pleasure meeting Sugar Minott and even more exciting getting to hear him perform. In late June 2007, Sugar asked me if I would consider setting up his company in the USA. He stressed he wanted to reach a broader listening audience and formulate Sugar Minott LLC. After deep consideration and following my inner most belief of: Follow your heart, follow your passion!", I came onboard and accepted the position as manager of Sugar Minott LLC. and manager of Sugar Minott in the USA.
Taking into consideration that I would take a year off to fully commite myself to the development of Sugar Minott LLC. and was also asked to be the Executive Producer of Sugar's 29th CD - New Day! It has been an exciting year friends and fans and my work is finally completed with Sugar Minott LLC. In late April 2008 I resigned as Manager of Sugar Minott LLC. and as manager of Sugar Minott. Handing over the reins of an intense year of dedicated labor to
Sugar's Jamaican management Peter Mabbra! Wishing Peter and his staff ALL THE SUCCESS. The greatest part of this past year was working closely with Sugar Minott and producer Roman Pryce. "New Day". Roman Pryce did a stellar job of producing, arranging, mixing and playing all the tracks on Three continents, Jamaica, USA and Leeds, Yorkshire, England.

NIKII D. PERFORMS LIVE IN JAMAICA!
Hello Everyone, I'M back in the STATES!
WOW, talk about the most AMAZING experiance! I flew down to Kingston on the 28th of February to perform on the amazing show NRUL - produced by the amazing soul that he is: Stephen Stewart and CREATIVE TV.
NRUL is the New Release Underground Live Show that has been put together by CREATIVE TV in Jamaica and Harry J. Studio Engineer: Stephen Stewart. This is the most awesome show to perform at and I am still floating on a HIGH from it! The purpose of NRUL (which is funded by Creative TV (check out their website: www.creativetv.com) and Stephen Stewart of Harry J. Legendary Recording Studio is to expose new artists releases through TV and internet.
Exposure for Artists who don't have the funds to pay the Payola to get Airplay on local and international radio stations! It is and was for me the most amazing opportunity and I am so truly blest and grateful and thankful for CREATIVE TV and NRUL for the opportunity to perform in not only another country but another culture. I felt so welcomed and at home and the love and out pour of gratitude from the Jamaican audience that attended was so amazing. I performed two songs off "Simple Kind of Woman", the song that has been recieving steady airplay in Jamaica and produced by Stephen Stewart "Over & Over" and the song recorded with 2005 Grammy Winner Toots Hibbert, "Round and Round", produced by UK Producer Roman Pryce and NOW avaliable in DVD and being shown on HYPE TV /DIRECT TV(www.hypetv.com). I was in total bliss and shocked when Toots, Reggae legend himself, strolled through the gates of Harry J. Studio to give his support for my performance. I was'nt really nervous until he showed up! It was so great and I felt totally blest that out of his busy schedule he took the time to attend the performance at NRUL. THANK YOU TOOTS SO MUCH!!!!! I AM SO BLEST BY YOUR SUPPORT AND FRIENDSHIP!
Just prior to going onstage another friend and soon to be guest artist on my next CD which is in the works, SUGAR MINOTT (original dancehall KING) came by with his possee and WOW, two legends in the Reggae Industry coming to give support to me, it was unbelievable! Thank you so much SUGAR for coming and giving the support and THANK YOU for your wonderful performance! All the artists at NRUL performance were TOTALLY AMAZING. I met some stellar artists and was so blown away by the talent that this show is attracting!! If you get down to Kingston and are in the neighborhood of Harry J. Legendary Studio's located at 10 Roosevelt - stop in and say HELLO - Wade is the gate guard and tell him Nikii say's HELLO and sends her love and ask to visit!!! This was a dream come true and for me I am still in awe! I loved performing in the yard where the legends of Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Dennis Brown and the list goes on have recorded! It's spiritual in so many ways!!! It was an incrediable night for me and the band that backed me were AWESOME. Charles Farquarson (from Toots band) lead the band and played Keys, Roman Pryce played bass and it was just an amazing experiance. I wish ALL OF U could have been there. It was 5 hours of GREAT MUSIC and GREAT VIBES. EVERYONE PRESENT was on a music high!!!
There will be a DVD availabe on the website in a month or two of the show so please keep checking the website so you will get the chance to view it and catch the vibe!! Thank you, Hugs and LOVE to all who made this performance and trip possible for me! I would not have been there if it had not been for you! OH, I almost forgot to mention, I also performed one song off my new CD (summer release) Love won't let me down - written by Toots - I added the last verse and it was SUPER WELL recieved by the crowd. After my performance and while walking around the crowd handing out giveaways I was blown away with people coming up and telling me how they could relate, or they were going through what I was singing about and telling me, "you got it girl, keep going, you got it!!" It was like getting a grammy for me. So inspiring and WOW - To be accepted and loved so much for the songs I write and the music I sing in another Country by another culture - WOW - I am so blest!!
Thank you to all the FANS who while travelling the island came up and introduced themselves and commented on the DVD they were seeing on HYPE TV. YOU are soooo appreciated and YES! I am the white girl on the TV with Toots!! The local people got so excited seeing me out in the middle of nowhere travelling around the island - their faces would light up and they would point at me and
ask for autographs! I pulled out my bag of handy giveaways and autographed to their hearts content! I am HONORED that they would know who I am and acknowledge me! WOW!!! Unbelievable!!!!

I have recently been honored with the opportunity to perform on NRUL TV (New Release Underground Live) in Jamaica! I am the first US (American) Artist to be invited to participate in this exciting New Artist performances and what an amazing honor to be invited to perform in Kingston, Jamaica!! WOW! I am soooo excited!
Currently I am in the studio working on a new release and the "very special guest artist" list is coming together superbly! Staying with the very successful format that previous producers, Peter Boe, Dennis Carter, Stephen Stewart and Roman Pryce put together for me: blues & a little bit of reggae, with once again an amazing all star musician line up! The new single should be available soon! "Love won't let me down!" Thanks again for ALL your support - not a day goes by that my heart is not filled with gratitude for all of you!

Nikii New's ~ Nikii Invited to Sing ONSTAGE with Big Bill Morganfield!
Greetings Everyone!
Summer is in full swing with amazing Artists performing all over the world in the most
exciting festivals to attend! Please continual supporting these cultural music festivals! They need your attendance! On July 7th I was blest with another amazing experience. After 3 years of full on dedication, working the vocals, expanding the writing skills and just finding my place in this amazing journey another DREAM came true! Last week I made the decision to visit with the one person who inspired the CD "Simple Kind Of Woman", Big Bill Morganfield (Muddy Water's Son). I had found out through his website: www.bigbillmorganfield.com that Bill was going to be performing in the Northwest. So to make a long story short, called my girlfriend and headed for Seattle's Highway 99 Blues Club. What a GREAT club! Great Staff, Great Venue and GREAT food! We took with pleasure the 3 hour drive through the beautiful Pacific Northwest I-5 and finally arrived at our destination - thank goodness for reservations and for Kelsey who reserved our table for the show. Keep in mind it had been three years since I had attended a Big Bill Morganfield show! No one knew I was coming and so we sat down for an evening of the most excellence in a blues performance. The band was solid, the harmonica player - totally amazing with a belt of lord knows how many harmonica's and to the amazement he seemed to use everyone! The guitar player was stellar! I watched with amazement as this man's fingers moved with ease into licks that were mind boggling! Then there he was, the son of legendary blues man Muddy Waters own, Big Bill Morganfield. From the moment he took the stage it was a level of entertainment, soulful and pure bliss of the blues. He has done his father proud! Bill was great three years ago! Bill is AMAZING and a shining star that is so bright, it blew me away. His first set was the most amazing energy I have witnessed in the blues genre for along time! The presence was amazing! During the first 15 minutes he looked out and saw us! What a look on his face! One of surprise for certain. After the first performance they took a break and we visited. I had shared with him the goings on with me, the CD - DVD - the eight awards from Billboard, just what was going on. He was so proud of my accomplishments and invited me to come on stage and sing! WHAT!!! I told him, hey I don't know your material but I would love too! WHAT A HIGH!! I got up there and did my thing, improvised! Oh LORD it felt so good and to be on the same stage as this legend! WOW! Another dream come true! Thank you God I say AMEN! The audience loved it, I so much appreciated the compliments from the audience and truly felt blest and inspired. I am so thankful to Bill and his Band for the opportunity of a lifetime! WOW! Bill spoke with me after the final set and commented "You have come along way, you sounded like Janus Joplin!" WHAT!!! ME!!! I blushed! WOW, what an amazing compliment! I wanted to share this story with you because I know that many of you approach me and ask "how did you do it?", "how did you bring to life your dream". I have never given up and have surrounded myself with positive, inspirational people who inspired me and always believed in myself that for so long I had denied. I encourage each and everyone of you to SHARE YOUR GIFTS! Whatever it may be, singing, guitar playing, writing, what ever your passion is LIVE IT, BREATH IT on a daily basis and watch the amazing journey begin and unfold! Many, many heartfelt "thank you's" to Big Bill Morganfield for his guidance and continual support of my life long dream - music. Remember it was 4 years ago that I met him and he inspired me to LIVE MY DREAM. I owe much to him for believing in me and my vision of writing, recording and performing the songs that I write from my heart and soul! It only takes one person to inspire another. In the end, or rather, as things really are, each event that happens in our life no matter how big or small is ultimately tied to all the others events. Act on those thoughts that are swirling around in your heart, soul and mind. Acting upon them brings the most incredible experiences that YOU are very deserving of. I mentioned to Toots about a month ago this thought: Treat yourself right instead of putting up a fight - oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah! Please mark your calendar September 9th & 10th for the HEMPFEST Waterfront Music Festival. The venue is starting to shape up and I would LOVE to see you there! STAY STONG ~ LIVE YOUR DREAM! It's been a bit of a whirlwind the past couple of months.It is difficult to put into words but I will try because it is so incredibly amazing and to be honest I am still in AHHHHH over it! It's important to extend my
Many, Many Heartfelt Thank you's and gratitude to Toots Hibbert for his exceptionally extended promotion of the single "round and round". During his recent USA Tour in March and April I was EXCEPTIONALLY blest with a welcomed opportunity when Toots and The Maytals were performing in Aspen, Colorado,
Copper Mountain, Colorado, Richmond, Virginia, Washington DC, West Palm Beach and several other venues (and very much to my surprise invited me on Stage and announced the release of our duet "Round and Round" and the DVD Music Video "Round and Round" filmed exclusively in Jamaica. I was totally blown away by this unbelievably kind gesture! There are no words to express my thankfulness and gratitude to Toots (Nyah - as he likes to be called which means "Fire" and trust me - He has the FIRE Burnin within) for him taking the time and giving a Blessed opportunity of exposure for I. I am SO VERY BLEST for his continuing support and friendship and one on one knowledge that he has shared with me and continually shares! Give thanks - Jah provideth! Nyah (Toots) is one of the most amazing and kind-hearted soul's that is on this planet today! He continually inspires me and continually encourages my personal growth with the music! His words are always: "never give up Nikii, believe in yourself!" - these words of inspiration BURN within my soul on a daily basis and when you have someone of his stature encouraging you when there are times when one asks themselves "should I" all doubt vanishes in the vapors of self doubt! - I have learned from Toots that the most important things in life are those gifts that we share and the giving of ourselves and those that surround each and everyone of us on a daily basis. Treat Yourself Right ~ instead of putting up a fight! Stay Strong ~ Share your love and kindness, thoughtfulness and your truths ALWAYS & FOREVER - GIVE OF YOURSELF! SHARE OF YOURSELF! Extend a helping hand! These are simple daily gestures that are of no monetary cost, that are from the soul and the heart of matters and change and can change the world that we live in. In the giving of himself to inspire and nurture me with an education that I could never attain anywhere else I feel the burning desire inside my soul that this chosen path is without a doubt where Jah wants me to be. It's about the music, It's about the love and it's about being there for one another. Reach out and see what will be, There's trouble all over the world, struggles all over the world - Do your part - SHARE YOUR WISDOM - LIVE YOUR DREAM
and just watch what manifests! The most amazing journey will begin and continue beyond your wildest imagination. NEVER GIVE UP and continue to always move forward in your passion.
The Band was incredible - taking me in and just loving me - always bringing so much joy to my heart with their words of wisdom and encouragement. How often does it happen that musicians of this caliber embrace new artists? I don't really know but I am moved to tears with the love and support that Toots and The Maytals surround me with! I am so blest and am so deeply grateful.

Wow! This life is so Blest! I was so excited when I went to my mailbox and received the first
award. What an honor! Then to receive FOUR MORE AWARDS - I was truly beside myself
and so very grateful! I am exceptionally grateful to all the musicians who contributed to the CD
"Simple Kind of Woman" and especially grateful to the producers, Peter Boe, Dennis Carter, Stephen Stewart and Roman Pryce. HUGE Thank-you's to Jennifer Eland who composed the music for
"Fall of My Tears" and "Can't Quit You". I am very blest to have her extraordinary talents on the CD. She is an amazing artist in her own rights and one to keep an eye on! This gal can write "hits".

TRAVEL LOG
Early April was blest to get to spent a couple of days on the road with Toots and the Maytals! What an amazing experience! So thankful for the invite and the opportunity to give to Toots his copy of the DVD "Round and Round". He loves it and thinks it's wicked! YES! The filming was such an unbelievable experience and Ray Smith the director did an EXCELLENT job of filming. Stephan Stewart did an excellent job of rounding up all the loose ends and making it happen! Much Gratitude! The DVD will be on the web site next week so log on and check it out. Beautiful shots of Bull Bay in Jamaica! I was blest to be invited to a couple of shows and
every show is extraordinary and different. Toots puts his heart and soul into every song!
The Mighty Maytals are truly amazing and everyone is just so loving, kind and thoughtful!
From the moment the Maytals play the first note to the end of the show it is the highest level of energy I have experienced with any performance I have ever seen! The backup vocals - AMAZING - solo's that each musician
performs, AMAZING and Toots - full of a life force that surpasses any entertainer I have seen on stage! ONE is left with a contact high! The show takes you to the higher heights - that's for sure and the energy from these amazing and stellar entertainers has left this child with a smile on her face for weeks!!!

It has been an exciting spring and looking forward to this summer. I was asked to perform with with the band at the HEMPFEST in Portland, Oregon in early September! Wed, March 22 ~ DVD Featuring Toots Hibbert UPDATE!!
Hello Everyone!
I am so excited to announce that the DVD has finally gone through it's final edit! We had hoped to have it for your viewing pleasure by March 1st - but hey, this AWESOME DVD took a little bit longer then anticipated and I it was worth the wait. Toots had the opportunity to view it in Jamaica and he loves it!
YES! Give thanks! Everyone at the Stop, Look & Listen Records office has been working hard this week to finalize the press/promotion kits! They turned out AWESOME and WOW, I am so blest with the most amazing staff. I want to give a big huge thank you to David Blue for his review, Shelly Nettleingham of Nettleingham Audio a GREAT BIG HUGE - THANK YOU! You rock girlfriend! You always amaze me with your talents! I am very grateful for you making time for this project in your busy schedule at the last leg of the press kit journey! Many, many heartfelt thank you's to Ray Smith who directed and edited the DVD - Round and Round ~ I LOVE IT, Love it and just feel so blest to have your talents, professionalism, staff and your very creative eye! I was thrilled, blest and delighted to have been interviewed by the EVER SO talented radio personality, Maria Thomas from 93.5 WRTN in New York. Maria did an amazing interview with me Monday Night and it was truly a wonderful experience for me and enjoyed by the listening audience in New York and Tri Cities! Many heartfelt thanks to Ms. Thomas for being the outstanding Radio Personality that she is and making me feel so comfortable talking with her "LIVE" on the air!
Maria started off the interview with "over & over" which was recorded at the Legendary Harry J Studio's in Kingston, Jamaica with the Maytal Band and the ever so lovely and talented backup
vocals of Ms. Pamela Hall. It was great to be able to share the story of this song with the listeners! Maria smoothly slipped into the Robert Cray
cover "I shiver". The ever so sensuous sound of Nikii Davis singing the blues tune being heard all over New York City. YEAH MAN! I love singing this song and I just love how producer Peter Boe has created a groove within a groove making it so sexy and everlasting! This is THE "pillow talk" song of 2006!
We talked about the journey of making the CD and all the amazing and talented musicians that participated on the project, then Maria mixed right into the song "someone like you" that Big Bill Morganfield and I wrote. It was a MUST that I share my story about how a friend rang me up from Jamaica and told me how he could hear it playing in the hills of Jamaica one late night OVER and OVER the same song! Maria really kept the flow going and we talked about what it was like having the opportunity to work with a legend such as Toots Hibbert. I expressed how blest I felt to work with a man of such great talent and how much I have learned from being in his presence! Throughout the entire interview Maria made me feel so comfortable and so relaxed! I felt as if I was talking with her in the same room, not live from Portland, Oregon in my living room - across the United States via Telephone! She has the most sensuous voice and OH she is just lovely and the GREATEST music that girl can play! She was playing all my favorites prior to the interview! Maria was such a GREAT inspiration for me that night and the support that she gave, I am so very grateful for! Greetings EVERYONE!
Many heartfelt prayers and blessings go out to the miners and their families during this time of great devastation! I felt so much joy in my heart when I heard the news that there was 12 miners alive - I screamed with joy! When I awoke in the morning and heard the devastating news - was wrong ~ I could only cry and ask "why lord why?" - Please offer in your daily prayers that these families and the community be surrounded by love, healing and comforted by the understanding being offered from all around the world. This was a horrible, horrible accident! I personally am still in shock over the news. Searching for answers! Very, very saddened! My prayers are with each and everyone of you and every day!
2005 was an amazing year! "Simple Kind of Woman" was completed and a very "mini ~ private" release finally happened! The CD has been very well received over the internet and the feed back is so positive and supportive! France, Sweden, Costa Rica and other European countries have really been enjoying the music and the two songs that are getting the most feedback are the single with Toots ~ "round & round", the title track "Simple Kind of Woman", Shame, shame is running a close third and the song co-written by Big Bill Morganfield (Muddy Water's son) is starting to really take off! Down in Jamaica they LOVE this song! One of the listeners emailed me that "someone like u" was playing off a boom box in the hills really loud and echoing throughout the mountain side! WOW!!! I am truly blest! Am currently in the process of more exciting things coming up with the CD and this will be announced at the end of the month! Hey, a girl has got to have some "secrets"! Paris, Austin, Texas, Seattle? - I can only say: it's in the hands of a greater power & timing is everything - when it's right - I'll be there and I just can't wait! This amazing journey continues on!!
I leave for Jamaica shortly - I am so blest to have Stephen Stewart providing guidance with his exceptional knowledge of the music industry! I am extremely pleased to announce that Ray Smith (google / ray smith - director - Jamaica) will be directing my very first video! I have looked forward to this for a very long time and now the time has come! To have a director/producer such as Ray Smith - WOW - I am so excited and just really, really thankful! A little nervous - YES - but I know that I will be just fine! It is amazing how this entire CD has brought forth the most amazing people and it just continues to grow!! As I sit and watch the footage of the great devastation that has been brought to the Gulf States by Hurricane Katrina, tears fall and my heart aches with grief and pain for these brave human beings who have lost everything. Your help is needed and we can make the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina better. Please help these people. We live in a great country that has plenty to give and what YOU can do right now is make a toll free call to: 1 (800) HELP or log onto the American Redcross web site: www.redcross.org - please donate.
There is never too little and it is never to late to make a difference in another human beings life.
My 11 year old daughter came to me two days ago with her piggy bank that she has been saving for the past year and said "mommie, can you drill a hole in my bank?", I said "what for honey? She said "mommie, I saw on TV how these children won't have any paper and pencils to start school with, I want to break open my pig and give my piggy bank to them so they can have some paper and pencils to start school with, I think there might be over $30.00!".
She had such a great concern on her face and a smile as big as the moon and was so eager to GIVE. Tears came from my eyes with joy that this young child of 11 years of age had compassion, care and love in her heart to give up what she had been saving for what seemed a life time to her, to share with an unknown child that she felt a common bond with! The joy and the happiness it brought to her heart to GIVE overwhelmed me. As devastation rocks these innocent people's life on a daily basis, each minute and each hour that passes more is at loss.
There is never to little to donate and it is never to late to donate. Please take the time to contribute to rebuilding another human beings life who has lost everything, help make it a better place for them to begin putting their lives back together. I have great faith in the human race and great faith in this country. Together, we can make a difference.
Thank you for your donations, for sharing whatever you are able to contribute and for making a difference in the many lives of those who are experiencing great loss this very moment in the Gulf States. Hi Everyone!
WOW, August is here! I just returned from the UK. What an exciting experience! Met with some wonderful musicians from Bradford, and even got to work a little in the studio with them. The experience was very exciting - they were working on a new reggae song - and I was visiting with UK producer Roman Pryce. One thing lead to another and before I knew it I was in the studio working on lyrics - ad libbing a song they were working on! It is a great track and I let them know that I diffidently want to work with them on this track! Many heartfelt thanks to Vinnie - Norman - Gadget - Geoff Dalkins - Gerard - Cota and all that made my visit to this studio a wonderful experience!
What a GREAT group of talented and dedicated musicians. I am still feeling the love and the high inspirations from that majickal evening! Many heartfelt thanks to Vinnie for the wonderful compliment - "I could feel the soul in your voice as you were singing those lyrics you were creating - very great for an american artist singing reggae - true words for you" - WOW, what a great compliment!
Everyone was just wonderful and so welcoming to me! We visited until 4 in the morning, going from the studio to a great little club underground and was blest to experiance the music and the energy of the UK crowd! I danced my little tootsie's off! Late in the night we went and had Chicken (love my chicken) at one of the most interesting late night dining places I have been too! If you are in Bradford UK it is a MUST that you stop by and give a big HELLO to my new found friend: JAMAL - he owns: Southern Fried Chicken - located at 78 Manningham Lane in Bradford - West Yorkshire!
The chicken there is SOOOO Good and delicious and none like I have ever tasted - it is the BEST finger lickin good chicken this girl has ever had! His hospitality is so welcoming!!
Thanks Jamal for all the good food!! Please keep prayers flowing for the folks in the UK during this time of turmoil. In passing through London while meeting with John Murray Smith rep for a label in London (Thank's John so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to meet with me and listening to the CD and the feed back you provided and the great referances for the business end of the music industry - so helpful and I am grateful for your time!) one could see the fear in peoples faces as they did their daily life. Upon entering the surroundings of London, one could feel the tension and the police were everywhere - pull over's on the motorway - streets - truly security was escalated to it's highest levels! I am truly grateful for the wonderful time and adventures that UK producer Roman Pryce provided.
Thankful for the opportunity to meet the amazing musicians, engineers, the 2am drive through the countryside of Yorkshire under the full moon and the best southern fried chicken this girl has ever had! I miss it already!! Am off to Bernie Grundmans Mastering studio this month. Should have the mastering completed by the 20th and then off to pressing and getting the cd: Simple kind of Woman - released! It's been a labor of love and the adventure has been unbelievable! Spoke with Toots about 2 weeks ago and told him about the increase on the website He was very pleased and told us to: Keep the fire burning! Such a wonderful human being and I feel so blest to have the opportunity to work with him! UK Producer, Roman Pryce is working in England with an a great group called: STAY FOCUS - they just recently got a distribution deal! Congrats to those boys! If you get the chance - watch for their CD release. I am not certain when it will be out - I will keep you updated!
Willie Nelson - Toot's friend - just released a new reggae feel CD - Check it out - I really like it and Nelson does that fav song from Jimmie Cliff "harder they come". Toots is in the video! It is an exciting time in the music world when CW meets Reggae and the cross over is so AWESOME! I feel so incredibly blest and deeply thankful that 3 days after Toots received his grammy for the best reggae album of the year - he chose to record "round & round" with me. I am forever grateful and there are really no words to express my gratitude for his belief and faith in me as an artist. Thank you Toots from my heart and soul for this gift that you have given to not only to me, but to the entire listening audience throughout the world!!! Since I was 13 I have listened to Toots and the Maytals and he is one of the biggest legends in reggae music today and one of the most humblest human beings I have ever met. It doesn't matter how many times I have seen his show (32)Toots always amazes me with his love, compassion for his music, his country and his audience!! SLY DUNBAR -- Hey what can I say! You make me smile and you are the most amazing drummer!! I am so very thankful that we were able to connect on what turned out to be a very short time frame, but being at the right place at the right time, diffinately played a role in Sly being able to lay down the drum tracks on this song. Thank you Sly and thank you Stephen!!! Sometimes things happen for reasons we don't understand but what I learned with this lesson was to let it go and see what happens. Sly Dunbar of the legend duo "Sly & Robbie" came into my life when the drums had to be replaced. Sly's name was mentioned as drummer of choice and through the help of friends, Sly's phone number appeared and before I knew it, Sly Dunbar was the drummer for "round & round". Meeting Sly was an incredible experience, a very humble man, an inspiration and so magical with his smile and his beat! I thank the star's above for Sly's contribution to this single and especially to Stephen Stewart for his finger that made it truly all possible!!! Kisses and Hugs to Sly and Stephen - this single would not be what it is if this one little situation had not happened!!!! Many heartfelt thanks to Terry Robb for his slide guitar! It's so great to have this extremely talented blues guitarist on this song! Thank you Terry for your words of encouragement and for always being there for me and giving me the nudge to "go for it"! The amazing background vocals of Skyler Jett completed the song. When we were in the being phases of this single, Skyler came in and layed down the most amazing background vocals and didn't stop there. He encouraged me and tuff'ended me up a bit! A star in his own rights, I am so hopeful that he will follow his dream and get his CD out for all of you to hear. This is a singer that will make you cry when he sings, his own material is so deep! Incredibly blest with the most amazing voice, Skyler taught me so much about putting "more soul, more color" into the way I sing! Thank you Skyler for "never giving up on me - even when I walked"!! I am so very grateful to you for your contribution! There's one man who has always kept a really low profile, yet always made sure "I do it right" with copyright and all that business kind of stuff. Bart Day, my music attorney, has been my rock! He has kept me focused, kept giving me important tasks to do (ie: who played what, who sang what? ect....) he has always taken my calls, panicked or not seeking advice and has really been more than a music attorney! He has become a friend and I am so very grateful and thankful he is in my corner! It's been an exciting couple of months. Just completed and ready for mastering is the exciting
Pop, Reggae song "Round & Round" featuring "Toots" from 2005 Grammy winner "Toots and the maytals" and featuring on drums "Sly Dunbar" of International Recording artists "Sly & Robbie". I am so excited about this new single release and looking forward to the feedback from YOU the listening audience!
I have been busy working on the promotion of this new release, preparing articles for the press and radio stations across the country and in Europe. I feel incredibly blest to work with such amazing and creative artists as Toots and Sly Dunbar. After this release I will be releasing another single, produced by Peter Boe formerly of the Robert Cray Band. Saw Peter for the first time in months and he is looking GREAT - as always and such an amazing talent! Peter did an incredible production on my original songs that I wrote and the love and support that he continues to give to me is so appreciated!!! I look forward to FINALLY getting this lifelong dream and endeavor released to the listening audience this summer!!! Summer is fast approaching and there are LOTS of great concerts and community festivals to check out!!!
I hope this finds each and everyone of you reaching for the stars and living your dreams. I just returned from Negril, Jamaica! What a great place to visit! If you do decide to go to Jamaica, I highly recommend that you stay at: Barry's - this is a great little family owned hotel with the most kindest & most wonderful people and the nightly/weekly rates are EXCELLENT!!
You are right on the beach which is 7 miles of beautiful white sand. Totally a kool place and Barry is the most excellent host! They have a great restaurant right on site and Jennifer the housekeeper keeps your room tidy and does your laundry for the cheapest rate in town! I've been going to Barry's for over 3 years now and feel really blest to have such a retreat to go to!! YOU WILL LOVE IT!! You can book directly yourself by simply calling Barry at: (876) 957.4741. The rates are hard to beat! $40US to $60US per night!! I LOVE THIS PLACE! Special thank-you's to Barry and his entire staff for making my last visit so wonderful and relaxing!!!!
The CD is at last completed! This last trip down, I had the great pleasure of meeting one of the most awesome drummers! Sly Dunbar of "Sly & Robbie". Met Sly through some friends and worked it out so that he could meet me at Harry J Studio's in Kingston. Sly layed down some AWESOME drum tracks for Round n Round. Sly really loved the single and looks forward to the release! He is the kindest and koolest guy and oh so friendly!! He has a twinkle in his eye that reminds me of Santa Claus!
He is diffinately a special soul and I am so grateful for his contribution on the single "round n round". The drum session with Sly completes the CD!! Yeah!! I am really excited for everyone to hear the single that was recorded with Toots! Toots & the Maytal will be in Portland, Oregon on the 17th of April at the Roseland - GET TICKETS NOW - I am certain this will be a sell out show!! I am so looking forward to handing him the single! I know he's gonna LOVE IT!! He loved it when he layed down his vocal tracks in Kingston about a month ago and now that we have a finished single - I can hardly wait to hand it over to him for his final stamp of approval.
Round n Round will be released on the website!! YEAH!!!! I feel exceptionally blest to have worked with the talents & legends such as Toots and Sly - WOW - what more could a girl ask for! The best part about the making of this CD is all the great people and connections that continually manifests!! Watch out what you ask for because you might just get it!! Roman Pryce from Kukoomon Productions is working hard completing the mixes on the CD and then we are off to London to master! EVeryone in London has been so patient with me!! It's gotta be right or what's the since I say! It's a very exciting time and I am looking forward to the release. There are some amazing interests that have come forth regarding the project and time will tell what will happen with this "Simple kind of Woman".

Skyler Jett came up about a month ago and laid down so more of his awesome
vocal trackson the single "round and round". When checking out Skyler for background
vocals, Wyonna Judd wrote: "Skyler has a really unique vibe going on with his music and is
a wonderful person too. I was able to spend time with him last summer and was enchanted
by his spirit. Keep you eye on this man, he's going to take us to some new places in a really
breathtaking way". Skyler has worked with Christina Aquilera, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston,
Todd Rudgren, Boyz To Men and the list goes on! Skyker is awesome. In 1998 he received
his first grammy for the blockbuster hit, "My Heart Will Go On". Skyler did the backup vocals

It's spring break here in Oregon, the kids and I are going to take a little break to have
some fun and write some more songs! I love this time of year when everything is starting to
bloom and the flowers - OHHHLALA - smell so incrediably good! I love the renewal of everything.
New kittens, flowers, baby chicks, little bunnies, a time for reflection and to give thanks! We

February 17th - NIKII NEWS FLASH!
Hello Everyone!!
Dreams do come true!! I wrote a song in August that I knew without a doubt there was only one person that I wanted to sing this song with and that was "Toots" of Toots and the Maytal. We were scheduled to do it in November, but after the hurricane, things were still a little unstable in Jamaica and when we went down to record this song, that day the power went out - on the whole block - so it didn't happen! I never gave up on this and finally - YES finally it has happened.
We recorded "round and round" on Wednesday at Harry J. Studio's in Kingston, Jamaica. Stephen Stewart as always doing an outstanding job of engineering and producer Roman Pryce from Kukumon Studio's, UK did an amazing job bringing this song to life.
With their direction, Toots laid down some AWESOME tracks of round and round and I know you all will LOVE IT!! NO DOUBT!! It was an amazing experience!!! Toots is really high off his most recent grammy!! I talked to him a little about this and he told me, "many times I thought it was mine and this year lord blessed, the grammy is mine, i knew one day it would be mine and now it is mine, I never give up"! There is no one more deserving than Toots! BIG HUGE CONGRATS TO TOOTS, his label and ALL associated with this production! Nice one!!
The CD was a long inspired dream - vision he had of creating and finally came true. I know at one point I was just about going to give up on my CD and this was about the time Toots CD "True Love" came out. On the slide picture page, just a few comments so that you know what the pictures are about! the first slide pic is my guitar player and producer of "round and round" from the UK, Roman Pryce - the next slide pic is me, holding up the tree of life and loving every minute of it and the third slide pic is me playing the oh so sweet guidan acoustic electric guitar. Musicians take note - this is the lightest, sweetest sounding electric acoustic!! These pictures were taken in September 2004 by a wonderful friend, Teresa Boyd. I am really grateful to Teresa for making this photo session happen and I think the results are AWESOME!! She certainly has a way with that camera and captured me just as is!! me being me!!

The session with Grammy winner "Toots" was AMAZING!!
Toots is the warmest, sweetest man, most fun one to hug!! He did amazing vocal tracks on "round and round" which will be released later - He is truly enjoying the high off winning the grammy! For so long he wanted this one!! Finally! This time he was not passed up! Toots is so deserving of this grammy!!! Yeah!!!
We are all so very happy for him!!! There will be some video to check out in about 2 weeks of the time spent with "Toots". I know you will love it!!! TOTAL FUN - My dream of recording with Toots of Toots and the Maytal has finally happened!! I never gave up and he loves the song!!

The CD is in final production. I have one last trip to make to Harry J. Studio's in Jamaica to finish up on one really cool song - reggae, lover's rock flavor & feel. It is such a fun song, I could not do without "round & round" on the CD. It should be completed by the end of February and then off to the mastering house with this life long labor of LOVE!!
I cannot begin to express the heartfelt thanks to all of you who continually encourage me to keep moving forward. To never give up - "no matters what" - as my 11 year old keeps reminding me! I have met the most amazing people from all walks of life from all over the world, at hotel's, airport's, supermarket's and various other places, that have been encouraged to log onto the web-site and check it out.
After they do, they give me feedback and such awesome words of encouragement to continue on! I am so very thankful & feel incredibly blest to have met so many wonderful, kind-hearted individuals.
So often they say "I wish I could do what you're doing!" or "I always have wanted to do my own thing, but you know, just never have, no time, I don't know how too". I am living PROOF that YES you can and YES, you MUST follow your heart's desire! It's not about making a "hit"or becoming a "star", it's about following and actually living a life long dream, a vision of my deepest inner thought's, a part of my soul! Sometimes I am asked, "are you scared of failure?". My reply, "scared of what?? Failure?". I see it this way, even if I didn't sell one CD, I could never see this project as a failure because it would be a failure to have never done it!!
One of the greatest joy's of my life, other then my children has been the daily input of making this CD come to life. The most AMAZING things, people and adventures have come into my life because of it!! How could I not want to be a part of something so awesome as that!! I ask myself daily "why not?". This very simple belief has opened so many wonderful doors in life.
